TÜV SÜD and Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia Sign MOU

Munich, Germany – TÜV SÜD, one of the world‘s leading services provider in testing, inspection, audit and certification will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC). The two organisations will be collaborating on workshops and awareness programs relating to international quality and safety standards for GMAC corporate members, where they will be getting special offers for TÜV SÜD’s testing, inspection, audit and certification services.

As the textiles and garment industries in Cambodia continue its expansion in recent years, it has grown tremendously to dominate the country’s export sector. High standards of quality and safety have to be maintained and continuously improved upon, which is why GMAC’s role of nurturing and providing a conducive business environment for manufacturers, is very significant for the whole Cambodian economy.

As such, to take advantage of the synergistic opportunities available between TÜV SÜD and GMAC, will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and collaborate on a series of workshops and training sessions, to ensure that GMAC corporate members can keep up with industry demands for international standards of safety and quality. For instance, members can learn how to better manage electrical, fire and structural safety of buildings or factories, including potential hazards that involves personnel, plant, services and operation methods.

This MOU demonstrates the commitment of TÜV SÜD and GMAC, to help propel and accelerate the growth of the industries. GMAC members stand to benefit from TÜV SÜD’s vast expertise and in-depth experience in testing, certification, inspection and training services at special members-only-rates; which are a hallmark of this MOU agreement.  TÜV SÜD and GMAC can now look forward to building a strong partnership and develop Cambodian’s textile and garment industries, in the years to come.
