Taipei, Taiwan – Focus Taiwan reports about Taiwanese textile makers anticipating good business after the participation in the fashion trade exhibition.

Taiwanese companies that attended a fashion trade exhibition in Las Vegas are expected to obtain about US$5 million worth of orders, the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) said .

The 16 textile exporters from Taiwan displayed readymade clothing, hats, socks and other accessories to potential foreign buyers at the Las Vegas Magic Show 2013 from Aug. 18-21, said the TTF, a private sector group.

High performance fabric supplier AGT International Co., ladies woven apparel maker Caribbean Industrial Co., and sports socks exporter Danken Enterprise Co. were among the exhibitors at the Taiwan pavilion, the group said.

Smart Hosiery Co., knitting fabrics supplier Hi-Tec Industrial Co., sock maker Paultex Industry Co., and garment accessory suppliers Taiwan Right Enterprise Co. and Trim City Industrial Co. also displayed their products at the pavilion, according to the TTF.

Under the theme “Think Taiwan for Textiles,” the pavilion attracted many international brands such as Adidas, bebe, Marubeni America Corp., JLux Concepts, and Beachbody.

These international brands held discussions with the Taiwanese companies and are likely to place at least US$5 million worth of orders for Taiwan-made products, the TTF said.

The trade show, now in its 78th year, brings together “the largest and most influential network of buyers, brands, media and decision makers,” according to its website.

Meanwhile, the TTF is leading another delegation of 17 Taiwanese textile makers at a trade show at the California Market Center in Los Angeles from Aug. 22-23 to seek business opportunities in the massive U.S. market.

The manufacturers include yarn and dyed fabrics supplier Tai Yuan Textile Co., printed twill tape maker Shiann Yea Enterprise Co., and garment supplier Mo Tong Textile Co.

Yang Hsiao-chin, a section chief at the TTF, said the federation is determined to offer local manufacturers the necessary assistance to set up a distribution network in U.S. cities, particularly in Los Angeles as it is a gateway to the huge New York market and Latin America.

The TTF is planning to hold similar trade shows and meetings in Indonesia and Vietnam in early November in a bid to help local exporters penetrate the global market, according to Yang.
