Singapore – JEC Asia Composites Show & Conferences wraps up its 8th annual session with a noticeable growth in attendance from four countries of Asean (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam), from Australia & New Zealand, a strong participation of South Korea outlining its ambition to develop a major carbon position and representative attendance from China, this year Country Guest of Honor.
“The Asian Composites market amounts to 44,28 B. S $ (Singapore dollars). In value, it represented 43% of the worldwide market in 2014. The demand made on materials has become greater in Asia. Investment in composites has increased and relative costs have improved. This is driving higher growth in both Innovation and Composites consumption in Asia.” says Mrs. Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group President & CEO. “Another dimension of the Asian Composites market is its complexity and heterogeneity. Asia needs an international platform to present this diversity. JEC Asia plays this unique role.” adds Mrs. Mutel.
JEC Asia 2015 New Formula
For this edition, the JEC Group created a new Formula to allow every participant to participate in an enriched program offering three keynote speeches, Innovation Awards, BtoB Meetings, high-level conferences, an Aerospace Leadership Circle, Exhibition Hall, Demo Zone, New Products Exhibits, Posters Session, the Job Center, Composites Tours and plant visits, the Exhibitors’ Reception, a Golf Simulator, the VIP Press Club and numerous networking opportunities.
During the 3 days of the annual event, more than 300 qualified B2B Meetings were organized by JEC Group, bringing closer together exhibitors and key buyers. Among them, we could count on the participation of 3M Singapore, Airbus Group, BASF, Singapore Airlines, ST Aerospace or again Climax Motorsport and Lamborghini to name a few.
Also, numerous networking sessions took place onsite during the conferences breaks, with successful exchanges with the greatly appreciated speakers. In addition, networking sessions were organized outside of the Convention hall to maximize the opportunities for meetings such as the exhibitors and VIP gala, the Chinese reception as Country Guest of Honor, or again the Composites Tours sites visits at TEMPCO Manufacturing and Singapore Polytechnic.
Another key event during JEC Asia was the Aerospace Composites Circle featuring Mr. Laurence Barrett from Barrett Aerospace presenting a speech about Composites Design, Manufacture and Repair. The Aerospace Composites Circle in Singapore aimed to use the best global capabilities and talents to meet local Asian Aerospace Composites needs.
For the first time on JEC Asia, each 3 days of the event welcomed 3 inspirational speeches that allowed the Composites professionals to overcome their limits. On Oct 20, Mr. Water Tay’s speech brought out the best in the Composites Professionals, and in the most entertaining way, covering the power of synergy related to the Composites Industry, the leverage of doing more with less or again the concept of Price versus Pride in Business. On Oct 21, Dr. William Tan taught a lesson of courage and humility, sharing with the crowd his passion and compassion to fulfill all of his dreams no matter sickness and adversity. Thus, his journey of resilience and reinventing oneself to scale greater heights in the face of adversity inspires many individuals and corporate leaders.
Finally, on Oct 22, Mr. David Lim, leader of the 1st Singapore Mt Everest Expedition, helped people tap their potential in becoming stronger leaders, be better team members and negotiate better life and business outcomes.
Festivities and Celebrations
The Opening & Innovation Awards Ceremony celebrated the Republic of China as Country Guest of Honor of this 8th session of JEC Asia, but also awarded 14 winners and their partners for their Composites Innovation in front of Ambassadors, High Commissioners and officials from Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States and Thailand (alphabetical order).
Also, participants celebrated JEC COMPOSITES MAGAZINE #100 issue with Awards for the best creative advertising and the most loyal advertiser. Prizes were respectively offered to Chomarat and Saertex. The ceremony was followed by performances of famous artist Gayle Nerva.
